Service 02

Local SEO services that win the map pack, suburb by suburb.

When somebody searches for what you do near where they are, three businesses get shown and everyone else gets scrolled past. Our local SEO work is about being one of those three, in every area you can profitably reach.

How local ranking works

Three things decide the map pack. Two of them are fixable.

Local ranking is not the same game as organic ranking, and treating it like one is why so many businesses pay for SEO and never appear on the map.

Factor 01

Proximity, which you cannot change

The searcher's distance from your pin is a heavy factor and no amount of optimisation moves your building. What it does mean is that a business in the centre of a city will lose suburb searches to a business in that suburb, so the strategy has to be built around where you actually are.

Factor 02

Relevance, which is mostly your profile and your pages

Primary category, secondary categories, service list, description, photos, products, and the page you point the profile at. Most profiles we take over are set to the wrong primary category and are missing half their services. This is the highest return hour in local SEO.

Factor 03

Prominence, which is reviews, links and mentions

Review count, review recency, rating, local links, and consistent citations across the directories that matter in your country. This is the slow compounding part, and it is where most competitors stop trying after month two.

What is included

The five workstreams that move a local business.

Measurement

We report on the map, not on averages.

An average ranking position across a city is a useless number for a local business, because it hides the fact that you rank first outside your own door and nineteenth four kilometres away.

  • Grid rank tracking. Your position measured across a geographic grid of your service area, so you can see exactly which suburbs you own and which ones need work.
  • Calls and direction requests from the profile. The actions that mean a person is about to become a customer, tracked month over month.
  • Call tracking on the website. Separate numbers for organic, map and paid, so nobody has to guess which channel filled the diary.
  • Booked jobs where you can share them. If you can give us the closed job data, we tie the whole thing back to revenue instead of stopping at enquiries.
Worth knowing

If your business hides its address because you work from home, you are a service area business, and the rules are different. Your map pack reach will be tighter and your organic location pages will carry more of the load. We build the plan around that constraint instead of pretending it is not there.

Questions

Local SEO, answered straight.

How long does local SEO take to work?

Profile changes can move rankings within days. Realistically, expect visible map pack movement in six to ten weeks and a settled position by month four to six. Competitive city centres take longer than suburbs, which is why we usually win the suburbs first and work inward.

Can I rank in a city where I have no office?

In the map pack, mostly no. Proximity is one of the strongest factors and a fake address is the fastest way to lose your profile completely. In organic local results, yes. A genuinely useful service area page can rank in cities you travel to, and for service area businesses that is where we put the effort.

How many reviews do we need?

Enough to sit above the businesses ranking around you, arriving steadily rather than in bursts. In most suburbs that means a handful a month, every month, with a reply on each one. A profile that gained forty reviews in a fortnight and none since looks exactly like what it is.

Do you handle multi-location businesses?

Yes. Multi-location work needs a location page template that does not produce near-duplicates, one profile managed per location rather than a shared listing, and internal linking that stops your own branches competing. We price per location group rather than per keyword.
