Service 06

HVAC SEO built around the six weeks that decide your year.

Heating and cooling is not a steady-demand business, and search marketing built for twelve identical months will miss the only months that matter. We work backwards from your booking history: pages ready before the season, repair and replacement treated as the two different businesses they are, and ad budget that follows the capacity you actually have.

The problem

Most HVAC marketing is built for the wrong month.

The pattern is almost always the same. The phones go quiet, somebody signs a marketing contract, and work begins in the slow season for a peak that is already six weeks away. Organic visibility takes four to six months to move. The rush arrives first.

Meanwhile the account is optimised toward whatever lead is cheapest to generate, which is nearly always a service call. The replacement enquiries, worth many times more, get a fraction of the attention because nobody separated them in the reporting.

Then capacity fills. The ads keep running, the calls keep coming, nobody can book them, and the one-star reviews arrive in the busiest fortnight of the year.

None of that is a ranking problem. It is a planning problem, and it is the one we are set up to solve.

A job flow pinned on a board: enquiry call, booking, quote, then completed installation

What is included

Six workstreams, sequenced against your season.

The full reasoning behind this sequence is public: read HVAC SEO when half your year arrives in six weeks.

Reporting

Booked jobs by type, not leads by month.

A report saying "50 leads" tells you nothing about an HVAC business. Fifty maintenance enquiries and fifty replacement assessments are not the same month.

What we reportThe decision it supports
Cost per booked repairWhether repair acquisition still pays at current volume
Cost per replacement assessmentWhether sales opportunities are affordable
Assessment to installation rateWhether the enquiries are the right kind
Unanswered calls and lost bookingsWhether capacity, not marketing, is the limit
Maintenance agreements soldWhether recurring revenue is building
Grid rank across your service areaWhich suburbs you own and which need work

Compared year on year against the same season, never month against month. June will always beat May, and that tells you about the weather rather than about us.

Fit

This is not right for everyone.

We would rather say this now than in month four.

  • If you cannot answer the phone in peak season. More visibility will produce missed calls and the reviews that follow. Fix dispatch capacity first; we will tell you if that is what we find.
  • If your budget is under $800 a month. Hire a good freelancer and we will introduce you to one. You will get more from their full attention than a thin slice of our week.
  • If you want to start in the middle of your peak. We will take the work, but the honest expectation is that it serves next season. Anyone promising otherwise is selling.
  • If you want us to publish rebate figures we cannot verify. Incentives change by state, utility and year. We point customers at the administrator rather than printing a number that may be wrong by the time they read it.

Questions

HVAC marketing, answered straight.

When should we start if we want results next summer?

Work backwards from when your demand actually accelerates. If that is June or July, starting in February is realistic for substantial SEO work, because four to six months is a sensible allowance for research, implementation, discovery and competing. An established site fixing one specific fault may move sooner. A new business in a competitive market will usually need longer. Paid search can produce enquiries far faster, which is often how we bridge a first season.

Do you work with HVAC contractors outside the US?

Yes. We run accounts in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, and we hold call hours in each. Seasonality differs by market, which is exactly why the plan starts from your own booking history rather than a template. Heating-led and cooling-led businesses get different calendars.

Why separate repair and replacement instead of running one campaign?

Because they are different purchases. A breakdown is decided in minutes from the map results. A system replacement takes weeks and several quotes. They need different pages, different keywords and different campaign goals. Run together, the cheaper repair lead dominates the optimisation and the replacement work quietly starves, even though it carries far more profit.

What happens when our schedule is full?

We reduce acquisition for the work you cannot deliver and move budget toward the work you can, usually from repair toward replacement when the install team still has space. That decision is made with your dispatcher using real availability, not in a monthly review afterwards. Sometimes the right answer is to spend less that week, and we will say so.

Should we pause advertising in the off-season?

Usually not entirely. Replacement research and maintenance demand continue outside the emergency peaks, and those are often your most profitable enquiries. We keep campaigns that generate work you can fulfil at a cost that makes sense, and reduce or pause the ones that do not. A lower off-season budget is sensible; disappearing from the market rarely is.

Can you help with fake competitor listings in the map pack?

Yes, and HVAC is one of the worst-affected categories. Keyword-stuffed names, virtual offices and lead-generation operations reselling calls are common. We document violations properly and report them through Google's redressal process. Removals are neither instant nor guaranteed, but in a three-slot map pack, removing one fake listing promotes every genuine business below it.

Do we own the accounts?

Yes. Your Google Ads, Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile are created under your ownership and stay there. We hold access, not the keys. If you leave, you keep the account, the history and the data. Ask every agency you speak to this question, because it is the one where a bad answer costs the most.
